Autumn Hills
image of orchard in bloom on beautiful sunny dayis located in Groton, Massachusetts, about 40 miles northwest of Boston and about 10 miles south of Nashua, New Hampshire. The orchard spans over 70 acres with more than 8,000 trees. Up on the high ridges there are panoramic views of the rolling hills of New Hampshire and Massachusetts including Mounts Monadnock, Wachusett, Watatic, Temple Mountain and the Nissitisset Hills in nearby Pepperell. If you don't believe us, come visit weekends in the fall, and see for yourself -- we have one of the most spectacular vistas in all of Massachusetts!
An orchard for more than 70 years, Autumn Hills is planted on three parallel ridges providing good drainage and excellent protection from frost. The land is the remnant of an ice-age glacier, which makes one of the best topographies for growing tree fruit. (Not surprisingly, as apples, pears, and other tree fruit originated in the glacial foothills of the Western Himalaya.)
